Art In Public Places

We currently seeking donations to raise $25,000 by May 31st to match a $25,000 donation made by a donor. These funds will go towards the purchase of the three bronze lifesize horses by artist Karen Petersen on Memorial Road.

The West Hartford Art League is committed to bringing art into the community and making it accessible to all.  Art in Public Places evolved as a continuation of our popular ArtWalk program, now entering its 7th season, which places hundreds of pieces of artwalk in storefront windows in West Hartford for three weeks every fall.

In 2007, we raised funds to commission a large scale sculpture by CT artist Peter Busby. It was installed on our grounds on Buena Vista Road in April of 2008.  In September 2008, we placed three sculptures, on loan, by celebrated artists Tim Prentice, Charles Perry, and Karen Petersen on South Main Street, Memorial Drive, and Buena Vista Road next to Cornerstone Pool.
